I’m licensed in the states of Idaho and Wyoming and I am an in-network provider with Medicare, Blue Cross and Regence Blue Shield of Idaho.
Counseling and coaching packages are all out of pocket.
I’m a generalist, but have specialized training and certification in the following areas:
- Trauma - I’m certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a very effective and frequently swift treatment for trauma.
- Skills building - I’m intensively trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) which teaches mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance and emotion regulation skills.
- Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
- Emotional Intelligence coaching.
There are certainly overlaps between the two, but in general, coaching is about moving forward through a problem with a specific goal in mind. Whereas counseling may often delve deeply into the past and healing is frequently the goal.
